Manage Assistant

Create, update, retrieve, or delete a Vapi voice AI assistant. Assistants combine a transcriber, LLM, and voice to handle voice conversations. Use this to configure assistant behavior including first message, system prompt, voice settings, model, and turn-taking behavior.

List Calls

List voice calls in your Vapi account. Filter by assistant, phone number, or timestamps. Returns call metadata including status, type, duration, and costs.

Get Call Transcript

Retrieve the full transcript, recording URL, analysis summary, and conversation messages for a specific call. Use this to access post-call artifacts after a call has ended.

List voice AI assistants in your Vapi account. Supports pagination and filtering by creation or update timestamps.

List Files

List files uploaded to your Vapi account. Files can be used as knowledge sources for assistants' retrieval-augmented generation.

Manage Campaign

Create, update, retrieve, cancel, or delete outbound call campaigns. Campaigns use an assistant or squad and a list of customer numbers. Use list_campaigns to discover existing campaigns.

Manage Squad

Create, update, retrieve, or delete a Vapi squad. Squads orchestrate multiple assistants with context-preserving transfers, enabling workflows where specialized assistants handle different parts of a conversation.

Manage Tool

Create, update, retrieve, or delete tools that assistants can invoke during conversations. Configure function and direct API request tools with the typed fields, or use configuration for other current Vapi tool types such as endCall, handoff, and transferCall. Use list_tools to discover reusable tool IDs.

List Phone Numbers

List phone numbers provisioned in your Vapi account. Returns phone numbers across all providers (Vapi, Twilio, Vonage, Telnyx, BYO) with their routing configuration.

Manage Phone Number

Create, update, retrieve, or delete phone numbers for inbound and outbound calling. Supports Vapi-managed numbers, Twilio, Vonage, Telnyx, and BYO (bring your own) phone numbers. Assign assistants or squads to handle inbound calls.

Manage Workflow

DEPRECATED — use manage_assistant or manage_squad instead. Vapi retired Workflows on August 18, 2026. This tool is retained for compatibility and no longer performs operations.

Download Call Artifact

Download a call recording, video, logs, or packet capture through the authenticated Vapi download endpoint. The call must have generated the requested artifact.
