List Glossaries

List available glossaries within an organization. Glossaries define source-to-target terminology mappings and can be attached to transcription or translation orders for consistent handling of domain-specific terms.

Confirm Order

Confirm and submit a draft order for processing. Use this for orders that were created with confirm set to false (incomplete/draft state). Once confirmed, the order will begin processing.

Get Order

Retrieve details of a transcription, subtitling, or translation order. Returns the full order state, associated transcriptions, operations, pricing details, and ingestion status.

Create Translation Order

Translate an existing transcription into one or more target languages. Supports 70+ target languages with both automatic (AI) and professional (human) translation services. When translating an already-translated transcription, the system automatically uses the original source.

Export Transcription

Export one or more transcriptions to a specific format. Supports text (txt, docx, pdf), subtitle (srt, vtt, stl), professional editing (avid, premiere, fcp), and other formats (html, maxqda, json). The export is processed asynchronously; this tool creates the export and polls until it's ready, returning the download link.

List Transcriptions

List transcriptions in your organization, sorted with the most recent first. Returns metadata about each transcription including state, language, duration, and cost. Can be filtered by folder and tags. Use the export tool to retrieve the actual transcript content.

Get Transcription

Retrieve detailed metadata about a specific transcription including its state, language, duration, cost, and sharing status. To get the actual transcript content, use the export tool.

Delete Transcription

Delete a transcription. By default, moves the transcription to Trash. Set permanent to true for irreversible deletion.

List Style Guides

List available style guides within an organization. Style guides define transcription and subtitling preferences such as verbatim mode, grammar correction, SDH (Subtitles for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing), speaker identification format, and notation tags.

Create a new transcription or subtitling order for an audio/video file. Supports both AI-powered automatic transcription and human professional transcription in 120+ languages. You can attach glossaries and style guides to improve accuracy, organize with tags and folders, and optionally receive webhook notifications on order state changes.

Get Upload URL

Get a signed URL for uploading an audio/video file directly to Happy Scribe's storage (AWS S3). Use the returned signed URL with a PUT request to upload the file, then use the resulting S3 URL when creating a transcription order.
